Everyday in
class we do an activity where we pair up in groups and talk about social media
news. It is a fun activity where we engage as a class and chose the topics we
like the most and up vote and down vote them. The topic with the most up votes is
the topic we discuss in class that day. We come up with a hash tag that relates
to our topic to make it seem more of a social media discussion. In today’s
class on November 1, 2016, the topic we chose to discuss was about Hillary
Clinton and her emails involving Isis getting hacked and leaked to the public. The
hash tag we used was #Podestaemails25.
I thought this topic was very interesting
because the election is less than two weeks away and all of this information is
just coming out. Prof Daly brought up the word Alt Right, which I have never
heard before. I did research on what The Alt Right was and I discovered that
the people involved in this were working furiously to find things like this on
Hillary to bring her down. This is the whole reason why all of these emails are
just now emerging. I think this discussion we had in class today was very
interesting and very engaging. Doing these activities in class make me more aware
on what is going on in the world.
