Virtual vs Reality Interactions

In silvers eyes the relevance and key roles that social media plays in our society today has caused far too many people to be consumed by it, and treat it as their only resource to interact with the world. Although a proper balance between interaction with people as well as interactions through social media can broaden a persons experience by allowing them to meet new people, this can also be counter productive if an individual isn’t careful. For example, a man or women can become so used to interacting with people and socializing with people through social media to the point where it becomes face to face contact they are clueless about how to act due to other things that come into play during face to face interaction such as eye contact, posture, and body movements. However, on the flip side of this if a person is able to handle both sides of this then the social media aspect of the world we live in today can prove to be extremely useful. For example, a man could either be attempting to get his face out there for a job or potentially even just trying to impress a girl and get her to go on a date with him. In this case the man can use social media as a way to get ahold of these people without having to go through the trouble of trying to find the person by phone number or finding them in person. If the man then applies his face-to-face social skills he is now looking at the opportunity to arrange a meet up with these people that he never would’ve had the opportunity for without the use of social media. All in all I think social media can be detrimental to peoples lives if they allow it to alter them, but can also prove to be a very valuable asset.
